“I love songs about horses, railroads, land, Judgment Day, family, hard times, whisky, courtship, marriage, adultery, separation, murder, war, prison, rambling, damnation, home, salvation, death, pride, humor, piety, rebellion, patriotism, larceny, determination, tragedy, rowdiness, heartbreak and love. I presume the great Mr Cash though was referring to his inner voice, rather than his singing voice which, brilliant though he undoubtedly was, hardly rates with Placido Domingo, does it? And yet his songs will be remembered for decades. Somehow there's a charisma which comes from a 'voice' which has lived which maybe most of us take our whole lives to find?
Good to see you "deleting" again Brian, anyway- we've missed you these last few days!
